Patrik the blogger can host bitches!

It is with great pride and honor that I was chosen to do the hosting stint for the CPA Convocation program for Ateneo de Davao passers in the recent October 2011 CPA licensure exam. The Convocation program was held last October 13 at the Finster Hall.

I first received a text message from the JPIA president last sembreak asking me to host the event. I was really hesitant to accept it since I was informed that this is an Oscars-inspired program and that the event is strictly formal. I was hesitant in the sense that I know my English communication skills are not, in any way, at par with the skills that a first-rate host should possess.

But duh, since I don’t have a choice, I accepted it.

It’s a really memorable night especially in the opening part that I was so nervous my right hand holding the script was shaking. And I was like, WTF. But anyway, it happened only for a split second but as expected, it caught the attention of the people seated in front. LOL. It was slightly awkward, good thing I kept my cool and proceeded with my next lines. And that did all the magic, as I saw the teachers in front of me gleamed with a smile. And I just wore my victorious smile after carrying it on with an adlib successfully! 🙂

LEMME JUST BLURT THIS OUT

After the show and even days after, I heard several comments from people attacking me and my co-host regarding our hosting skills.

While it is true to say that each one of us is entitled to his or her own opinion, I think it’s an entirely different matter when one’s negative comments were meant to attack or lambast the personality and reputation of other people. The original hosts backed out, and it was me and my partner who saved the show.

Kung maka panlait kala mo naman.. KAYA MO MAG HOST? LABAD!

It’s just annoying that the unfounded criticisms came from people who do not even know how to speak in English fluently and cannot even execute a well-constructed English sentence spontaneously. And you know what’s even more disheartening, some of my friends were among those who said negative stuffs against me. Plastic people, DIE!

Bunsoi in action!

I have always believed that criticisms are of great value if and only if they are constructive. If it’s the otherwise, its value will depend on how the person being criticized sees it. In this case, I see these “paninira” as something I could use to my advantage which would help me, in one way or another, grow as an up-and-coming event host.In addition, call me “feeling” or “echuserong froglet“, but lemme just blurt this out:

To those who continually throw unfounded remarks at me: mas lalo niyo lang po akong pinapasikat every time sinisiraan niyo ako!

.. and oh, another thing: IN YOUR FACE! 😛

Enough with this random share. HAHA.

With my former Atenews colleague, then-Features Editor, MARIA KATHERINA MUFF GALOPE, CPA. I’m so proud of you Kath! 🙂

I also have another picture with a newfound friend of mine, Anne Lorenze Corrales, CPA during the event. I’m still waiting for the photographer to upload the picture though. To Anne Corrales: congratulations my so-called KaraOfMyLife! How’s that? hehe.

So anyway, I would just like to congratulate again the new Certified Public Accountants of Ateneo de Davao University! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam! 🙂
