So season 75 of University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Women’s Volleyball Tournament is about to end in the coming weeks, and fans of different participating universities are very excited with the remaining games including the much-awaited championship round.
I thought of posting my FINAL FOUR FEARLESS FORECAST but team standings are very much close that I’m having a hard time thinking of ย which teams will advance to the semifinals round. So anyway, here are the four teams that I would ย like to see in the next round. ย (in no particular order)
1. Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) Lady Eagles
2. De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers
3. National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs
4. Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons
I would love to see my other favorite team FEU Lady Tamaraws in the final four but the players can’t seem to make it even when captain Gyzelle Sy is hard at work. In their previous game versus DLSU, Sy proved there is more to her than just being a setter! You don’t always see a setter dig spikes from the opponents and receive sooo many first balls with really really good reception just how perfect Gyzelle does when she plays! In fact, my friend who is a fellow UAAP WVT afficionado Gale Valerie Bandong joked:
“Pat, pwede na siyang manalo ng SEBERO award, short for setter-libero”
— and I just can’t agree more!
But anyway, I can’t let go of my other favorites also like Dindin Santiago and Myla Pablo of National University and of course, Pau Soriano and ADDU HS graduate Mayette Zapanta of Adamson Lady Falcons.
Looking at current team standings and the next two games, ADMU and DLSU are already safe in advancing to the semis round with DLSU getting a twice-to-beat advantage this early. ADMU, on the other hand, needs one more win to clinch a twice-to-beat advantage also.
Friends and readers, which teams would you like to see in the finals this season? No bashing please. Let’s just respect one another’s thoughts!
Thanks fellow volleyball lovers!
